Our Story
Ogden Wells was founded in 1980 by T.J. Ogden as an installer of small diameter shallow wells for residential use. Since that time we have grown into a company that can provide groundwater solutions from the individual homeowner to complete municipal water systems.
We have earned a reputation among our clients and professional colleagues for our innovative approach to design, installation, and solutions to complex problems. Our company has been built and continues to grow on repeat business, client referrals, and customer commitment in both the private and public sectors.
Our staff is fully trained and certified to meet any challenge. We utilize all of the latest equipment and techniques to ensure the most cost-effective, longest-lasting systems available.
Based in Tewksbury, Massachusetts, we serve clients across seven states and operate two divisions: Ogden Wells for water well drilling, pump systems, and filtration, and Geothermal Drilling of New England (GDNE) for ground-source heat pump installations.

Over Four Decades of Growth
T.J. Ogden founds the company in Tewksbury, MA, installing small diameter shallow wells for residential use.
Expands into bedrock well drilling with rotary and cable tool equipment. Earns driller licenses in Massachusetts and New Hampshire.
Grows into commercial and municipal water system projects. Adds pump installation and service division with a fleet of service vehicles.
Launches the Geothermal Drilling of New England (GDNE) division to serve the emerging market for ground-source heat pump systems.
Adds water filtration and conditioning services. Expands licensing to Rhode Island, Maine, and New York — now serving most of the Northeast.

Geothermal heat pump systems use the earth's constant underground temperature to heat and cool buildings, reducing energy costs and environmental impact. Our GDNE team handles everything from initial bore field design to final loop installation.
